American Honey
I'm super late on movies and television shows. I recently watched American Honey, a 2016 film, starring Sasha Lane as the main protagonist, with a side of Shia LaBeouf. The movie is listed a comedy-drama. I didn't get a whole lot of comedy but there was plenty of drama. Sasha Lane plays Star, an 18 year old who leaves an unstable home life to join a caravan of teens that sell magazines across the country. Star is from Texas by way of Oklahoma. Star quickly connects with Jake (laBeouf), who convinces her to join their caravan. Star decides to take the deal and join the group but she finds that selling magazines is difficult task and she also learns that the money doesn't come as easily as she imagined. Some sources describe Star as a teenaged runaway; but, at 18, you make your choices. This movie is a slow burn. It's nearly three hours long at 2h 43m. It's worth the watch. My only complaint is that the ending could have been more resolute and satisfying; I was left
