Happy(ish)

Happy(ish) by Cara Trautman, is about 35yr old Jane Pearson. She is single and desperately hoping for Mr. Right. Happy isn't the first word that comes to mind when reading into her life; she is surrounded by an eclectic group of people.

Jane finds solace in living vicariously through her friends; their relationships seem ideal or much worse than hers-creating a space for her to fall into a mediocre in-between. She seeks guidance from her father and stepmother and they often give her wise advice.

Happy(ish)The story lets us peer into the life of an ordinary person. None of the events taking place are earth shattering. I wasn't moved emotionally nor was there a true climax. The story levels off at one point and remains constant with no ups or downs but it wasn't boring.
