Bible Time!!

I’ve decided to read through the Bible; only I am going to take more time to savor, to study. I’ve never, ever read the entire Bible and I’m sure and I’m sorry to say I’ve never read all of the Old Testament (OT). My biggest challenge is consistency (hints: the year). At first I thought it would be difficult to read so many chapters, but honestly it’s not.

So instead of rushing through 66 books in a year, I’m going to take the year to read the OT.  That is 39 nine books in 52 weeks. I’m confident that it won’t take me all year to read the OT but I was thinking I may want to be a little less Protestant and read my Catholic Bible so a year would allow me a more time to accommodate for 46 books, if I chose.

Okay, so right now I’m on 2 Samuel 5. Oh…wait, wait. I’m not reading it in order. Is that wrong? I started reading Ruth and from there I read 1 Samuel, and half of Isaiah. So after I’ve finished 2 Samuel, I will go back and read the other half of Isaiah and then I’ll decide from there what I what book I'll read next.

Did you know?..

Gideon International was the organization responsible for Bibles being in hotel rooms? The first Bibles where placed in Superior Hotel in Montana in 1908.

I'm also reading Jane Eyre. Look for a review in the next few weeks!
