Tough Topics
I’m getting married this upcoming spring and there is so
much ground to cover outside of planning a wedding. We now have to have
discussions and conversations about real life – children, money, sex, religion
and death.
Death is the big one. No one wants to talk about it but you
really have to. What if someone is terribly injured? Do you put them on life
support? Do they want comfort care? It’s scary but no one is immune to
misfortune and hard times. It’s best to talk about it now – then to be completely
off-guard later down the line.
Life is the most delicate thing we possess. It can be splendid
and grand one moment and tragic and unfortunate the next. I noticed that in all
my searches of discussion topics, there where almost none that brought up an
important issue such as this. Life
insurance was basically it; but sometimes life and death hang in a grey
area and tough decisions are required. It’s best to make those decisions now,
while in good health, than to put an added burden onto your spouse in an already
wrenching situation.
