Loving Inward, Living Outward, Looking Forward
Loving Inward, Living Outward, Looking Forwardby Brittney Pressley was presented to me by the author herself. I’ve had many
opportunities to converse with her and she is truly enlightened. And when I say
enlightened I don’t mean she’s some super spiritual know who’s tapped into the
deepest depths of thinking. But what I mean is she is clearly living with open
eyes.
When she first told me she was writing a book. I took it more hypothetical than definite. But literally two weeks later she’s showing it to me. BOOM! Jut like that. I was speechless; I mean how many people who say “I’m writing a book” are actually WRITING a book? I’ve been “writing” a book for years but not for real. I didn’t expect to be presented with a physical manifest of a written book.

Honestly, even though I’ve spoken to author on many occasions
and got a little insight to what the book is about before I started reading. So
I expected it to be focus on exactly what the title says;
Love Inward – Love yourself; accept yourself (this will
reflect outwardly)
Living Outward – Take an active roll in your life. Don’t
just go with the flow. Make decisions make, make mistakes, learn and listen. Be
in control of your life
Look Forward – Make plans for the future, don’t wallow in
the past (it’s not going to change) and look forward to what’s to come.
While much of the content served more as a refresher for me;
it was a reminder that I am the only one who defines who I am. And the
challenge with self-definition is living as you are defined. That means being
consistent. The person you are should be the same with friends as with family
and at work. Don’t become one person around your friends and another person at
work. Be professional, be honest, be caring, be loving, be you.
There was also an
element of poetry. I was pleasantly surprised; I thought that it grounded the
authors points and for me, it served as a summary to what I was being said. You can buy the book here.
I definitely feel inspired…maybe the book I’ve been “writing”
will manifest and make its debut.
