I Went to the Movies

I went to the movies this past weekend. My boyfriend and I got up early and went to a matinee showing of After Earth... it was okay. It wasn't as action packed as other "Will Smith movies" but it wasn't a bad choice. The storyline was more about the son (Jaden Smith) and his self discovery. Without giving too much away, the son started off with his self-worth based on the approval of his father (Will Smith). In an effort to reach out, the father took him on a voyage to rid their current planet of an alien. The spaceship crashed, and they landed on a beautiful earth. No humans whatsoever, it was gorgeous! Anyway, earth is now dangerous for humans, the alien is running loose, and animals have evolved into a prehistoric likeness = dangerous.

Their only hope of getting home, is to beacon for help, of course the working beacon is about 20miles away where it crash landed with the other side of the ship.  The son and the father are the only 2 survivors and the father is severely injured so the son is the only person who can actually go to get, said beacon. Long story short, the son finds his self-worth, overcomes his fears and they make it back home.

Later that same day...

We went to see Now You See Me. OMGee, this by far one of the worst and wackest movies I've ever seen. Basically, it was all buildup ... and when something did happen it was a total bust. The magic scenes weren't cool and Morgan Freeman with his weak explanations made the movie a snooze if I ever did see. I've been telling people ever since not to see it. The previews hyped it up big time. Skip this if you feel like you really need to see it, what for it to come on fx. I went to a new theater that just opened-the nachos were bad.
